I chose to adhere to the following:
  1. I choose to follow the rules of good sportsmanship in all Siberian Husky competition and activities
  2. I choose to fully explain to all prospective Siberian Husky purchasers the disadvantages as well as the advantages of owning a Siberian Husky
  3. I attempt to help and befriend novice breeders
  4. I keep well-informed in the field of genetics and work persistently to eliminate hereditary defects from the breed
  5. Before entering into any breeding agreement, carefully analyze the pedigrees of the prospective sire and dam, and, in keeping the breed standard clearly in mind, refuse the mating if in my opinion it will not be in the best interest of the breed.
  6. I do not and will not deal with dog wholesalers or sell puppies or dogs to pet shops

Apologies to Andrea. We didn't realize a public site was for only members to view, and not for education for the general public. We've removed the link.   We have now found a much better site, link is below.

The Siberian Husky is an outgoing, fun-loving dog. He is lighter in build than the Alaskan Malamute, and also less bold. A medium build Apx. 35-65lbs in weight. But he still requires an alert owner who stays in control, as the Siberian's nature is to roam and explore, as his Artic ancestors did. That is one reason it is important to be aware of where your Husky is at all times. He also does well with other dogs and cats. Siberians do much better with homes with more than one animal. Does well in an apartment or in the back yard.

The Siberian is a member of the Working Group and was first recognized by the AKC in 1930.
